I am curious, approximately what year is everyone in? I am ready to post in March 1937. Am I too far ahead for everyone? Just let me know so I can move ahead. I haven't made a domestic post in a while, but I have been up dating and editing old domestic posts to reflect my diplomacy and other conflicts.

joediplomat i think you are going too far ahead. Remember Ahovking's rules: 1 month=1 year I also would like to voice my concerns in terms of shipbuilding times. Some members are saying that they have completed super battleships and incredibly heavyweight aircraft carriers. Now i would accept that if this is brave new world 1800 but this is now heart of darkness 1936. With the advent of better armor protection systems, increasingly complex crew requirements and training, new guns which requires a way longer time to build than the smoothbore cannons of old, and radar accompanied with a wide array of electronics and optics. I need to say that some members are building their ships too fast. For example. The USS Iowa was commissioned in 1939. It's keel was laid down in 1940 and the ship was officially completed in 1942. And that's without adding any seaworthiness testing whatsoever (which will increase even more time) and given the fact that America at that time was an incredibly resource rich country and have the capabilities to build increasingly large quantities of ships than most western and even eastern navies. So i'm just asking for people to make their shipbuilding times even more slower. Because i'm concerned that the battles in the future will be fought with hundreds of thousands of battleships firing all their main guns at once, making the game unrealistic.

ax3hunter, I completely understand your reasoning but I will pose a question. If I have lets just say 50,000 wormer working on a single ship around the clock, couldn't it be done in only a few months? I do understand your super-battleship and hundreds of thousands of battleships concern completely also. Therefore, i am no longer going to be constructing tons of battleships anymore. It was my rearmament from WWII, and it is complete. Anything done from here on is not going to be done with tens of thousand of workers and such due to their being sent to other fronts and areas to work on other projects. If you wish, I will take away a superbattleship.

ok so if I am going to fast I will slow it down. I will only post one month at a time. I guess then I will not make new domestic threads since I am in 1937. I will wait for others to catch up. In the mean time I will focus more on the conflict threads and diplomacy thread where my involvement is necessary. And will thus make appropriate changes to the domestic thread.
The US is a resource rich nation. I could build rather quickly, however, I havn't really focused on building large super battleships as of yet. I was waiting for the out break of WW2 before I really started hammering out weapons and such.

Then i would be incredibly concerned with your workers since no workers cannot work at anything around the clock (unless if they're doing shiftwork which will incredibly decrease the amount of workers working at the ship at any amount of time). And even at this time i would doubt Britain's ability to make any warship in less than two months. I can tell from personal experience that making a simple plane model can take half a year if you want it done well. I wouldn't suggest you to cancel the battleship orders at any time (i'm building one myself), i'm just asking to make the construction more realistic and not done in lightspeed.

Gotcha, I do now understand what you are saying, and will do this. I apologise for the inconvenience.

Does anyone know how many wars we can participate in at a time in general conflicts?

You can participate in as many as you can or want to. Just as long as you can keep up with fighting multiple wars.

Just a heads up to anyone who tries to invade afghanistan.
The real invasion of afghanistan in the 80s turned into basically a grindfest which forced the USSR to pull out From afghanistan. So if Paul or anyone tries to conquer Afghanistan in this game. They better have their logistics and strategy up to date because even with 80s tech the USSR failed to conquer that region
The US is the only one (arguably) to have conquered that region. And that itself is a 10 year effort.

Unless there's a direct favoring system for the defenders in the region, it should be a relatively quick and efficient war.

Well for one. The USSR was deploying almost all the stops (they deployed more than 100.000 troops) in the Afghan war in the early 80s and despite US backing. The Mujaheddin was heavily dug into the mountains and they still won.....somehow (remember: better weapons do not always win wars). And remember. The US also got heavily bogged down fighting in Vietnam and they too by the looks of it. Hoped for a quick and efficient war. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Soviet_war_in_AfghanistanSaid direct favoring system that lead to 50.000 wounded Soviet soldiers and 10.000 dead Soviets was the ridiculous mountain ranges throughout Afghanistan. The British tried to invade Afghanistan in the early 19th century and they too have failed. Any attempt for a quick and efficient war never happened in Afghanistan. At least in history. Now don't see this as an attempt from me to destroy any fun in your game. I just wanted to remind everyone that there is a reason Afghanistan was called the graveyard of empires and people who come into Afghanistan for a quick and efficient war will get their hopes dashed. If it happened even to the United States in the 2000s. Why must this one be different (unless if you have a really good order of battle than i will see reason in it).

Just a question, why is it being said that I attacked the French? Thailand was not a French possession. If it had been, I would not have attacked. And how can the Americansossibly know what was said at a private meeting in the imperial palace?

I already questioned Joe about it. He's out now but he assured me he will edit his post
